Collections from the Royal Society
Collection of 41 microfilms of documents from the archives of the Royal Society of London. The collection contains documents corresponding to the foundation and first decades of operation of the Society, one of the first and most important scientific academies, active at present. The collection includes correspondence with some of the most outstanding scientists of the moment, including one of the first presidents of the Society, Isaac Newton, as well as documents of a diverse nature: articles, memoirs, reports ... many of which were not published in the Society magazine, the Philosophical Transactions. The collection is very relevant not only to the history of science during the Scientific Revolution but also to the social and cultural history of England of the Restoration.
