UAB students choose their delegates

Delegates are of vital importance for the academic monitoring of the degrees and now, during the first weeks of the academic year, students choose their representatives for their group. The delegate will act as spokesperson between the group and the faculty, and is therefore the one to identify the needs of the group and act to solve problems or encourage the good practises inside the classroom. Moreover, teh delegate represents the interests of the group and its main task is to monitor the academic quality of the degree. Through the periodical meetings of the Comissions de docència, all subjects taken by the group are analysed and improvements are taken into consideration. The delegate also remains in touch with the faculty members, specially the academic coordinator and the vice-dean for students, and with Comunity Involvement, through the Cens de delegats/des de grup acadèmic.

That is the reason why delegates are chosen during the firs weeks of school. For those students who come to the UAB for the first time, Community Involvement, in colaboration with the faculty, will explain the tasks performed by the delegates, so those who want to be candidates can consider their options. The following week the elections will be performed in the classroom. Delegates of superior courses, if the group agrees, can renew as representatives filling the form insluded at Delegates Guide.

Once chosen, delegates get the support of the university through the faculty and the Cens de delegats/des de grup acadèmic, handled by Community Involvement. They have access to a Moodle plattform for delegates, where they can work together and plan their trainning sessions, ofered monthly and where they will acquire the tools to perform their task.
