The exhibit is a joint initiative by the Science and Technology Library, the Social Sciences Library, the Humanities Library and the Map Library and includes "a series of articles, resources and bibliographical tools which can help to learn about the legacy of a very vibrant society, understand the significance of a defeat and encourage reflecting on our future".

The exhibit was put together thanks to the collaboration of lecturers Lluís Roura i Aulinas from the Department of Modern and Early Modern History, Sebastià Solé i Cot from the Department of Public Law and the History of Law, Agustí Nieto-Galán from the Centre for the History of Science (CEHIC) and Francesc Xavier Vall Solaz from the Department of Catalan Studies.

The Service for Bibliographic Information and Documentation of History, Language, Literature and Art of Catalonia, SIBHIL·LA, also participated with an extensive bibliography which will help users find all the bibliographic resources available on the historical events of the year 1714.

During September and October 2014, the libraries participating in the exhibit will also have related bibliographical items on display.
