UAB awarded HR Excellence in Research

The UAB, UPF and URV are the only universities in Spain to have been awarded the ‘HR Excellence in Research’ seal, a distinction that the EC Directorate-General for Research and Innovation confers on institutions in recognition of their efforts to improve the working conditions and rights of researchers.

One of the three pillars of EURAXESS (Rights) aims at better employment and working conditions for researchers throughout Europe, thereby helping to enhance the attractiveness of European research careers. One of the cornerstones of EURAXESS Rights is the implementation of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

In 2008, the EURAXESS Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) was launched to support institutions in the process of implementation of the Charter and Code principles in their practices and policies.
 
The seal recognises the efforts the UAB has made to implement further these principles, with the creation of an internal analysis process and improvement plan to be put into practice in the next two years. At state level, only three universities, all of them in Catalonia (UAB, UPF and URV), have been awarded the seal.
