Under the framework of this call, the #UABRefugi Modality C: Study Grants are aimed at guaranteeing equal conditions in access to education for people seeking refuge. Through the UAB Refuge programme, managed by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària, these grants are provided with the main goal of guaranteeing equal conditions in access to education for those seeking refuge who face socioeconomic obstacles when it comes to continuing their university studies.
The call for applications was resolved for a total amount of 31,446.78 euros to be distributed among 20 students in the programme. The grants cover different expenses related to the development of studies, such as teaching material, transport or expenses derived from traveling from the place of residence to the centre of studies, electronic devices necessary for the monitoring of academic tasks, material for curricular practices and other expenses directly related to the development of university studies and duly justified.
The UAB Refugees Programme, which works to guarantee the right of access to university studies for people seeking refuge or victims of forced displacement, is currently serving 48 people.
