The UAB, top university in Spain
According to the Times Higher Education ranking, the UAB consolidates its position as one of the 200 most international universities in the world and ranks number one in Spain.
The UAB ranks 109 among the most international universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education ranking for 2025. The UAB also occupies the first position in this ranking with regards to other universities in Spain, followed by the University of Barcelona (119), and the Complutense University of Madrid (167).
The indicators of this ranking include the proportion of international students (25%), the proportion of international teaching and research staff (25%), publications in journals with at least one international co-author (25%), and the international reputation of the university (votes from outside the country, 25%).
Times Higher Education Ranking
THE World Universities Rankings is a ranking prepared by the Times Higher Education magazine, specialising in higher education and using the criteria of teaching, research, citations, transfer and internationalisation, combining objective information with subjective information based on expert evaluations of the universities analysed.
In recent years the UAB has achieved a progressive improvement its position in some of the most prestigious and influential international rankings. Thus, it is among the leading universities in Spain in world rankings such as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR), the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR), the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), and many others.
