The UAB to participate in the 4YFN with entrepreneurial projects, spin-offs, and mobile technologies

From 3 to 6 March the University will be present as an exhibitor at the 4 Years From Now (4YFN) startups fair, one of the umbrella events offered by the Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC). The UAB stand will showcase 3 spin-off companies, 7 startups launched by alumni, 9 entrepreneurial projects, and 20 research groups from the mobile and digital technology sector.

Once again, the UAB will showcase its entrepreneurial and innovative abilities at the stand 8.1C42 of the 4 Years From Now event. This year the University will be present all four days, and its stand will be the chance to give specific visibility to entrepreneurial projects and businesses created by students, researchers and alumni from the UAB.

Spin-offs:

  • BioEclosion produces new diagnostic devices based on state-of-the-art biosensors.
  • Distinkt develops high-level security fluorescent inks based on nanoparticles to help fight counterfeit.
  • Nanoligent specialising in nanotechnology-based treatments against cancer.

Entrepreneurial projects:

  • BrainMapp is an intelligent programme to assist neurosurgeons in brain mapping by electrical stimulation, automatically recording the results to improve the accuracy and safety of interventions.
  • Lainapp is a mobile application based on artificial intelligence that personalises the experience of music festival attendees, offering recommendations and concert planning based on their preferences.
  • Terap.ia is an artificial intelligence programme that facilitates access to and analysis of biotechnology data, accelerating the development of advanced therapies and strategic decision making.
  • NanoERT is a nanotechnology-based solution to improve therapies using enzymes and other therapeutic proteins.
  • Urbametrics offers an urban data analysis tool that transforms complex information about the environment into clear visualisations to facilitate decision making in urban planning.
  • Lopako is a project offering a comprehensive solution for caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease, combining an intelligent assistance application and a therapeutic device for personalised cognitive stimulation.
  • Regemed is an innovative device for rapid skin regeneration that creates customised solutions from the patient's own tissue, thus improving healing and recovery.
  • Replantegem is a project that seeks to transform urban spaces and the way people relate to them through the implementation of green infrastructure and citizen participation.
  • Nows is an application that connects students with activities, associations and events, fostering participation and community building in the university environment.

Alumni startups:

  • Ou.style is a platform combining fashion and technology to revolutionies the way we socialise at events and parties.
  • M.IA is a platform that simplifies business data so that companies can make strategic decisions more efficiently.
  • LexDoka offers an automated legal document management technology for companies.
  • Mathew is a company that applies artificial intelligence in the field of education and training to improve learning.
  • Placenet offers a digital solution with contextualised content and communications based on location, enhancing visitor experience and interaction with the environment.
  • GlassMusic transforms musical experiences using mixed reality.
  • NFT Price Floor is a platform that aggregates and analyses NFT markets to provide relevant information to retail users.

In addition to these projects, the UAB Research Park, 20 research groups from the School of Engineering, the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, the Faculty of Psychology, and the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine will also participate with information on projects and technologies in the digital sector. The UAB-led AccessCat Network will also be present at the fair.

The UAB is an entrepreneurial university, committed to promoting the entrepreneurial spirit and skills of students, research staff and alumni. Worth highlighting are the 31 startups the UAB has helped to promote since 2009 with the aim of transferring research results to the market, and 30 more created prior to the approval of the UAB Regulations on the creation of technology-based companies and spin-offs.
