The School for a Culture of Peace (ECP) of the UAB presented on 24 May the main conclusions of its yearbook Alert 2018!, which details the effects of armed conflicts on human safety due to populations being forced to flee from their homes.

This year's report focuses closely on Syria as an emblematic case among the conflicts currently taking place. The presentation of the annual report also included the presence of Shahd M. Zaroor, a young refugee from Syria studying architecture in Catalonia, who participated in a debate on the problems caused by armed conflicts.

The event took place at the conference hall of the Faculty of Political Science and also included interventions by Pamela Urrutia, researcher of the ECP's Conflict and Peacebuilding Programme.
