Tetanus Diphtheria Vaccine campaign for those over 40
The vaccination campaign organised by the UAB Healthcare Service will offer the Tetanus Diphtheria Vaccine to university community member aged over 40.
The UAB Healthcare Service launches a vaccination campaign for adults needing a tetanus and diphtheria booster, particularly those aged around 40.
These diseases caused by bacteria can have serious health consequences. The Ministry for Health of the Government of Catalonia, with the aim of protecting people throughout their lives, recommends the administration of two doses against tetanus at the age of forty and sixty-five.
Unvaccinated adults, i.e. those who have never received any dose of the vaccine, should receive three doses of the vaccine: the first, as soon as possible; the second, at least four weeks after the first dose; and the third, at least six months after the second dose. A booster dose will also be necessary.
The UAB Healthcare Service also administers Hepatitis B and Hepatitis A vaccines.
