Tania Nadal elected new president of the UAB Social Council

The Government of Catalonia has appointed Tania Nadal Vicens president of the UAB Social Council. Nadal, who was already a member of the Social Council and had been Vice President and President of the Economic Committee, will be taking over from Gabriel Masfurroll, president of the UAB Social Council since 2014.

Nadal holds a degree from Haverford College and Harvard University, USA, and from the Leadership and Innovation Programme at ESADE, Barcelona. She is member of the board of directors at the insurance company Egarsat, and member of the board of directors of the hospital group Clíniques Mi. She was also general manager at the Women's Health Institute, strategy manager at the Fundació Itinerarium, chief of staff of the Bankinter presidency and managing director of Comerzia. She has also collaborated with entities such as Fundació Impulsa and Cáritas. She became a member of the UAB Social Council in 2014 as a representative of the Government of Catalonia.

The UAB Social Council is the university's social participation branch. It collaborates in defining the criteria and priorities of the UAB's strategic planning, and works to integrate and connect university activity with the public sector, civil society and the productive framework. The president of the UAB Social Council is appointed by the Government of Catalonia.
