26 October is the first day of Sustainable and Safe Mobility Week (SMSS) at the Autònoma. The aim is to promote methods of transport that are more sustainable than cars.

Various different activities are planned, aiming to get the university community actively involved. There will be guided cycling and walking tours starting out from different towns near the Bellaterra Campus. On the 29th, as well as a chance to discover new routes and enjoy each other's company, those taking part will get a free breakfast. Other activities planned are a driving efficiency course and a workshop on safety for motorcyclists.

Furthermore, Thursday the 29th is Bike Day, with different activities taking place at the Plaça Cívica between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Presentation of the new app Busos UAB
We will also see the launch of mobile apps related to the theme of this week. One of the main ones is Busos UAB, an app designed to help users of the campus bus service.

This multi-platform app – Android, IOS or web browser – will tell you everything about routes, stops and waiting times for the next bus. Also, QR codes with this information can be found at every bus stop. These initiatives come from the project Smart Campus, currently under way at the UAB.
