Rosa Franquet receives the Career Achievement Award
Rosa Franquet Calvet, professor in audiovisual communication and advertising at the UAB, received the award from the Association of Women Journalists of Catalonia.
On Thursday 21 November the 31st edition of the Non-Sexist Communication Awards was held at La CIBA in Santa Coloma de Gramanet. The event was organised by the Association of Women Journalists of Catalonia, coinciding with the 32nd anniversary of the organisation.
Rosa Franquet Calvet, professor of audiovisual communication and advertising at the UAB, received the Career Achievement Award. This award distinguishes an outstanding career in the world of journalism, characterised by a commitment to gender equality and responsible communication.
Franquet was academic director of the PhD programme of the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the UAB and has spent numerous stays as researcher or visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley; the University of London (Goldsmiths); the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia; the University of the South Pacific, Fiji; the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil; the Ibero-American University in Mexico; and the Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile. She has also participated as external evaluator in European research projects on issues of content and communication technology. She was president of the Catalan Society of Communication (2009-2014) and, in 2004, she received the research award from the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia.
