Registration period now open for second semester artistic training workshops
The Artistic Training of Music, Dance, Theatre, and Writing Classrooms consists of various annual and semester-based workshops organised by Cultura en Viu. These workshops offer different projects to introduce participants to the artistic world through classes with professionals from the fields of music, theatre, dance, and writing. All workshops are recognised academically with ECTS credits and offer reduced prices for members of the university community.
You can now sign up for the workshops of the second semester. The courses that have opened registrations are the following:
The Theatre Interpretation Workshop in English is a continuation of the first semester of this activity under the direction of Sophie Heydel. Students will experiment with theatre interpretation through their body and voice. As a distinctive feature, the classes, interpretation work, texts, and other course materials will be in English. This is a unique opportunity for those students who wish to improve their pronunciation, language, and memory in this language. A minimum of B1 level in English is required. The course will begin on 12 March and end on 21 May 2025. The rehearsal days will be Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Voice Technique Workshop will be directed by Professor Óliver Carrasco and will run from 25 February to 27 May 2025. Participants will develop theoretical and practical knowledge to enhance and care for their voice. The course aims to teach how to use the voice appropriately in different areas. The classes will be on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Creative Writing Workshop Level 2 is an activity directed by Professor Jordi Gol and will take place from 27 February to 29 May 2025, on Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The aim is to delve into some of the fundamental writing techniques, mainly focused on fiction writing, to provide students with the skills and resources necessary to improve their works. The workshop is more practical in nature than the Creative Writing Workshop, and it will focus on the analysis of texts by renowned masters of world literature to extract examples of narrative techniques directly from the works.
The Urban Dance Introduction Workshop is led by Professor Rosa Lechón and aims to explore and experiment with different styles of hip-hop culture dance (popping, locking, etc.) while improving coordination, balance, rhythm, and choreographic memory. The workshop will allow you to enjoy the elements that form hip-hop culture and learn about its historical origins.
It will begin on 27 February and end on 29 May 2025. The rehearsal days will be Thursdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
