Recognition for the UAB-UPF master's degree in Digital Humanities and Heritage

The official master's degree in Digital Humanities and Heritage of the UAB was awarded a prize to the best training initiative conducted in 2022 by the association Humanidades Digitales Hispánica. Sociedad Internacional (HDH). The degree offers training in the most innovative computer technologies which can be applied to the documentation, analysis and dissemination of cultural and heritage elements.

The University Master's Degree in Digital Humanities and Heritage is coordinated by Department of Prehistory lecturer Joan Antoni Barceló and includes the involvement of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). It was created in 2020/21 and is aimed at people interested in cultural, social and humanistic issues who want to learn to apply the most advanced and innovative computer technologies to their academic and professional careers. Its lecturers are prestigious experts of the sector and the external work placements, totalling 150 hours of training, is one of the degree's strong points. Collaborating entities include the Catalan Cultural Heritage Agency, the Cultural Heritage Office of the Barcelona Provincial Council, and many other both public and private cultural centres, associations, cultural service companies, archives and museums.

The Humanidades Digitales Hispánicas (HDH) is a non-profit academic association aiming ot foster the study and training in the field of digital humanities. Other prize categories include: best article published, best tool, resource or infrastructure developed, and best communication, dissemination and circulation initiative in social media. 

Within
