Peter Hunt talks on the delights and challenges of children's literature

The conference, entitled "The Delights and the Challenges of Children's Literature", will be given on 1 October at UAB Casa Convalescència (Carrer Sant Antoni Maria Claret 171) in Barcelona. The event will consist of two parts: the first will take place from 10:15 am to 11:15 am and the second from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm.
Peter Hunt is professor emeritus in Children's Literature at Cardiff University. His courses were the first to treat children's literature as a subject of academic study. He has lectured on the subject at universities all over the world. Among the prizes he has received are the Distinguished Scholarship Award from the International Society for the Fantastic in the Arts and the International Brothers Grimm Award from the Institute for Children's Literature, Osaka.
As literary critic, Hunt is author to a long list of renowned works such as An Introduction to Children's Literature (1994), Children's Literature: An Illustrated History (1995, editor) and Alternative Worlds in Fantasy Fiction (2001). He has also written fictional books such as The Map of Time (1983), A Step Off the Path (1985) and Sue and the Honey Machine (1989), and has edited several editions of the Oxford University Press World's Classics.
