Jornada d'anellament d'aus a la UAB el 21 de desembre
Scientific bird ringing is a study method based on the individual marking of the birds. Any record of a ringed bird can provide a lot of information about their biology, especially about their migrations.

With the purpose of increasing the knowledge about the birds in the UAB Campus in Bellaterra, the Environment Office (OMA) and the FAS organize a bird ringing event on Monday 21 December. The meeting time and place will be at 8.30 am in the Vila's football pitch, in the part closest to the forest. The activity is expected to last until 12.30 noon.

The activity of Monday 21 takes place after the first bird ringing event of this year on 16 October, which was very well received. The volunteers ringed birds of 10 different species, and a total of 47 specimens: 6 robins, 10 long-tailed tit, 4 chiffchaffs, 10 blackcaps, 8 Sardinian warblers, 3 serins, 3 firecrests, 1 great tit, 1 blue tit and 1 dunnock.

The event is part of the training of the group Nesting Boxes Volunteers - Biodiversity of the Solidarity Autonomous Foundation, which builds boxes for the birds to nest, they repair them, do follow-up of the birds and organize activities related to the care of environment. Participation is open to everyone, and it is not necessary to register in advance, just to be at the meeting point on Monday 21 December at 8.30 am.
