New volunteer programme to accompany young people on prison leave
The Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) is launching a new volunteer programme entitled "Justice-Youth", which consists of accompanying young people during programmed outings, during their release from Juvenile Penitentiary Centres (CP Jóvenes) and on their return to the community.
The project aims to help break the social isolation and stigmas suffered by prison inmates, in this case, young people between 18 and 25 years of age.
The process of leaving prison and the social reintegration of people who have been incarcerated is a challenge. Young people leaving prison often do not have family references or a favourable environment to return to in the community. In this line, the programme aims to promote the social inclusion and reintegration of these people, through an accompaniment adapted to their needs and/or interests. Volunteers will join a team that will propose, prepare, foster and/or participate in thematic activities aimed at these young people, in order to inform them about the alternative of healthy leisure activities and the community network and services available to them.
People who want to participate in this project should know that they must commit to volunteering two hours a week, with flexibility in schedules (mornings, middays or afternoons) and a commitment of 18 months to offer the young person a solid and stable accompaniment.

The dates are:
- Wednesday 29/11 - from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.
- Thursday 30/11 - from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.
- Monday 04/12 – from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Participating in the volunteer programme can be validated with ECTS credits.
