Next academic year 2014-2015 the new double degree program in Applied Statistics and Sociology will be offered. The program is designed to receive both degrees in 5 years. The number of places offered is 20.

The new double degree responds to the growing demand for this profile, to analyse (macro)data from the public domain: institutes of statistics, market research companies, third sector, surveys of public and political opinion, among of others.

The studies have been articulated in five academic years. In total, students will actually take 342 credits of the two degrees, instead of the 480 that would make the two degrees separately. This saving of credits is possible through the recognition of common content in the two curricula.

The UAB campus structure and the good understanding between the departments involved have been crucial to achieve this multidisciplinary project.

The recommended profile is that of a student with social concerns and a good mathematical background from secondary education.
