From migrant violences to educational and cultural refuges

Lecturers of the Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia) and researchers from the groups Diverser and the Centre for Latin American Studies in Inclusive Education (CELEI) Natalia Duque and Diana Carolina Osorio will be conducting the seminar on migratory violences and refuges entitled “Violències migratòries en contextos educatius i culturals”. This training proposal will use reflection and dialogue to focus on the violence occurring during human displacements and the realities in Colombia and Spain, as well as the challenges and potential of cultural and educational spaces to act as vital and symbolical refuges. 

The seminar is particularly aimed at education, cultural management and social support professionals interested in migration issues and cultural diversity from a critical perspective.

The seminar will take place on campus on 25 and 26 October from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Seminari Màster 2 Room (Building G5) of the Faculty of Education. Places are limited to 20 participants; those interested in participating can sign up here.

This activity forms part of the Projecte Pluri-versitat: Avançant cap a una universitat compromesa amb el territori, la comunitat i la justícia global of the Education for a Global Justice programme launched by the Cooperation and Education for a Global Justice Area of the FAS, with the support of the Directorate for Global Justice and International Cooperation Services of the Barcelona City Council.
