Four UAB-affiliated centres renew their Severo Ochoa and María de Maeztu seals
The ICMAB-CSIC, CREAF and the Institut Josep Carreras have renewed their Severo Ochoa accreditation, while the IMB-CNM-CSIC will continue to be a María de Maeztu accredited centre for the next six years.
The 2023 call for the granting of accreditations and public aid for Severo Ochoa centres of excellence and María de Maeztu units of excellence, under the framework of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities' Subprogramme for Institutional Strengthening, has approved the renewal of the Severo Ochoa centres of excellence to the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC), the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF), and the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute. The distinction, which will be applied starting on 1 April, includes a public aid of €5,660,000 for each of the centres.
In the same call, the awarding of an accreditation as a María de Maeztu unit went to the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona - National Microelectronics Centre (IMB-CMB-CSIC), with an associated grant of €2,946,000. In both cases, the amounts will be distributed over the next four years and the accreditation is granted for the next six years.
Three of the centres: ICMAB-CSIC, CREAF and IMB-CNM-CSIC are located on the Bellaterra campus.
