End of the ninth edition of the UAB Barcelona Summer School
On Friday 2 August, the UAB will bid farewell to the students who participated in the ninth edition of the UAB Barcelona Summer School, whose second three-week period began on 15 July. More than 500 people from 58 different nationalities stemming from five continents took plart in this summer programme. The closing event will be held at 11:30 a. m. outdoors in front of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, near the Eix Central's cafeteria.
During the welcome session, UAB Vice Rector for International Relations and Language Policy Laura Santamaría, academic coordinator of the programme Graham Mortyn, and the social programme team, presented both the University and the UAB Barcelona Summer School and offered students practical information for their stay.
The UAB Barcelona Summer School is the University's international summer programme, offering courses in all academic fields and open to the international public as well as to the UAB student body. This year new courses were offered and 90% of the teaching was in English. Students can validate between 6 and 12 ECTS credits.
The programme takes place in two three-week periods. In the second period, which ran from 15 July to 2 August, sixteen subjects were taught, one of them online and the rest in the faculties of Education, Arts & Humanities, Biosciences, Veterinary Medicine and UAB Idiomes.
The UAB Barcelona Summer School offers participants the possibility of sharing experiences with students from other countries and learn about different cultures, and the chance to take part in leisure and sports activities. This year the social programme (the former buddy programme) offered seven activities per period.
