Audiovisual Communication students awarded by the Association of Women Filmmakers and by a film festival

Audiovisual Communication student Alba López Hernández was the winner of the CIMA10 contest, organised by the Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Means and Prime Video, for her script on women sorority. Students Enric Bach and Alicia Chisbert also received an award from the Barcelona Film Experience festival, for their short Les noies del terrat.

Alba López Hernández, student of the bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communicaito of the Faculty of Communication Studies, received an award in the CIMA10 contest in the category of Centres Specialising in Audiovisual Training with her script entitled Senyoretes tranquil·les i senzilles.

The CIMA10 contest, organised by the Associació de Dones Cineastes i de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CIMA) and Prime Video, aims to foster equality in the number of women filmmakers aged 16 to 23 within the audiovisual industry, as well as give visibility to new creative, plural and diverse voices. CIMA10 is the first short audiovisual script contest based on the Decalogue of Good Practices to Overcome Sexism in Audiovisual Narratives. In this 2025 edition, a total of 274 scripts were submitted from 23 provinces in Spain; a demonstration of the importance this event represents.

The project created by Alba is a fictional short that reflects on female sorority and friendship among older women, highlighting their life stories and intergenerational experiences.

The production of the short will be carried out by the Faculty of Communication Studies and will include the support and supervision of Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising lecturers Luisa Martínez García and Santi Suárez. Moreover, the project will be mentored by Catalan filmmaker Gemma Blasco, who is also member of the CIMA.

The winning shorts can be viewed on YouTube and on the official Prime Video and CIMA channels, platforms through which the pieces and projects are being promoted. The winners also receive a cash prize of €800 and €2000 for production costs.

Award from the Barcelona Film Experience

Audiovisual Communication student Enric Bach was also awarded at the Barcelona Film Experience festival. This young filmmaker, who also studied in ESAC acting school of Valencia, received an award alongside Alicia Chisbert, also student of the UAB and graduate in Interpretation for Camera from the Estudi Karloff. The students directed Les noies del terrat, a short combining conflicts, emotions and humour in a space as peculiar as a rooftop. A story filled with humour and tension taking place in the heart of Barcelona.

The short Les noies del terrat was produced as a part of the subject Planning, Production and Management of an Audiovisual ProjectAccording to Enric Bach, "it tells the story of four roommates with a lot of character who one day find themselved trapped on their building's rooftop. While they are desperately trying to find a way to get back in, they begin to confront each other with a series of arguments and accusations".
