The Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Educational Policies for Global Development at the UAB has received for the third time an Erasmus Mundus grant and has reached more than 5.5 million euros in funding, which represents a unique milestone in the Catalan university system.

GLOBED

The Erasmus Mundus programmes are international master's degrees taught jointly by a group of at least three higher education institutions from different countries. The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Education Policies for Global Development, known as GLOBED, is coordinated by the UAB and is taught at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology. Universities in Malta, Oslo, Amsterdam and Sarajevo are also involved, as well as the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO).

GLOBED aims to set new standards as an official master's degree in the field of globalisation, education and international development. It lasts two academic years (120 ECTS credits) and in the first semester brings together all students enrolled in the programme to the UAB. Teaching continues at the universities of Oslo, Malta and Amsterdam, in addition to the UAB itself. The programme includes a summer school in Malta and external internships in the second year. The success of this programme is also reflected in the fact that, in its latest edition, it has had 1,700 applications to fill the 30 places offered. Applications come from all over the world, with a predominance of students from Asia and, secondly, Africa.
