Health and Sustainability Week at the UAB

The fifteenth edition of the Health and Sustainability Week at the UAB will take place from 7 to 11 April. During five days a varied and interesting programme full of activities focused on health and sustainability will be deployed on campus: from talks and workshops, to physical and wellness activities. That same week, on Wednesday 9 April, La Comunitària will take place.

Alimentació saludable

Acquiring habits for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle is the backbone of the activities scheduled for the 15th edition of the Health and Sustainability Week (SIS), which will take place on the Bellaterra campus from 7 to 11 April. The programme can be viewed here.

The inauguration will be on Monday 7 April at 1:00 p.m. and will take place at the UAB Cinema Hall. by Xavier Gabarrell, vice-rector for Campus and Sustainability, will be in charge of the welcoming speech. This will be followed by the inaugural lecture entitled “The Lies We Eat”, which will be given by Dina Bashir, coordinator of the Catalonia Delegation for Food Justice.

 

 

Different activities such as talks, workshops, exhibitions, physical and wellness activities, etc. will be held throughout the week.

On Wednesday 9 April, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m., the La Comunitària will be held in the Plaça del Coneixement, which will be a sample of the diversity of the university associative network and services of the campus, organised by the Dinamització Comunitària Unit.

The closing session of the SiS Week will include the artistic activity “Extinction Rave”. The activity will take place on Thursday 10 April from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and is offered by the Mis Bragas Foundation. This immersive artistic activity with headphones will allow listening to the sounds of nature, music and reflections on climate change, and then will visit the Birdwatching exhibition, ending with a walk through the forest and a DJ session on the terrace of the UAB Theatre Hall.
