Barcelona City Council awards three projects by young UAB researchers

Three UAB projects were selected by the Barcelona City Council to receive grants under the Recerca Jove i Emergent 2024 programme.

Three UAB researchers have been chosen to receive the Recerca Jove and Emergent 2024 grants awarded by the Barcelona City Council to young researchers in the scientific ecosystem of the city. The grants have been awarded to Esther Lázaro Sanz, Beatriu Pinós postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Spanish Studies, to develop the project Memorias, trazas y destinos de las periodistas republicanas en Barcelona (FEMMEM); Rosanna Rossi, researcher at the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (IBB-UAB), for her project Innovación en el diagnóstico de la enfermedad del Alzheimer (Sens4AD); and Laura Esteve Matalí, from the Department of Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Preventive Medicine and Public Health, for the research project Contexts of vulnerability of informal home care workers (Contexts of vulnerability).

The awards ceremony took place on Monday 10 February, in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Hall, with the presence of Jordi Valls, deputy mayor of the Department of Economy, Finance, Economic Promotion and Tourism, and the rector of the UAB, Javier Lafuente. All twenty-three projects receiving a grant in this call were presented at the event.
