The UAB's Solidarity Foundation (Fundació Autònoma Solidària, FAS) has been managing the university's Solidarity Fund since 1993. This fund subsidises cooperation and education projects with a global justice perspective developed by members of the same community through contributions from the university institution, from students through tuition fees and from members of the PDI and PAS sector. These calls aim to improve international university cooperation through the promotion of a critical, decolonial and feminist perspective.

XLII call addressed to PDI and PAS

This call is intended to promote initiatives developed for administrative and service staff or for research teaching staff, which contribute to the understanding and transformation of the causes and effects of global issues from the university. This year, the XLII call of the UAB Solidarity Fund foresees a total endowment of €90,000 with a maximum amount of €15,000 per application.

The main criterion of this call is the prioritisation in the execution of projects in the “South” and “UAB” lines. The “South” line is aimed at inter-university cooperation and education for global justice actions carried out in countries of the Global South. As for the UAB line, this year, support will be given to actions focused on education for global justice that are mainly carried out at the UAB. Unlike previous calls, the projects related to the UAB line may also involve inter-university cooperation with countries in the Global South. The proposal may involve the participation of a university or research institution from countries of the Global South.

To be eligible you must be teaching and research staff (PDI) of the UAB with a contract that includes research activities or be technical staff from the administration and services sector (PTGAS) of the UAB.

The information session will be held on Tuesday 21 January from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., through this link on Teams.

E2024-2025 call aimed at graduate students

This call is aimed at international cooperation projects with a global justice perspective, developed by UAB students. This year, the call provides a total of €15,000 with a maximum of €2,000 for each of the funded projects.

To be eligible for these grants, the following requirements must be met: be a graduate, master's or PhD student at the UAB during the 2024/25 academic year. The project must be linked to the applicant's current studies, be accompanied by a UAB professor/tutor and have a counterpart (university or organised civil society) from the Global South.

In addition, the student must know the language of the country/territory in which the activity takes place. Finally, in order to be eligible, the student must not have received this grant in previous calls for proposals.

The information session will be held on Wednesday 22 January from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., through this link on Teams.
