On November 25, the Inclusive Art Week will begin at UAB. An event that comes to our campus with the aim of offering performances that can raise awareness in the UAB community about the inclusion of people with functional diversity and, above all, entertain and delight both the artists and everyone who wants to attend.

The 4th edition of the Inclusive Art Week arrives at UAB with the best shows and activities on November 25. The Office of Commitment and Community, together with UAB Culture and CERSIN, aims to give visibility to inclusive art, promoting the active participation of people with functional diversity and showcasing the transformative potential of culture as a tool to break down barriers and foster social cohesion.
To attend any of the events, prior registration in the following form is required.

On Monday, November 25 at 12 p.m., the theater-music show “Des-concert” will take place. A show by Trastero de las Artes and IMPD that represents a unique expression of creativity and poetry by merging the art of clowning with the essence of the Temps per a tu program. This initiative offers a program specifically designed for young adults with disabilities, giving them a unique opportunity to train in performing arts and explore their creativity comprehensively.

On Tuesday, November 26 at 1 p.m., in collaboration with CCOO UAB, there will be a screening of the film “Pride” by Matthew Warchus (2024). A story inspired by real events set in the Thatcher era, where a group of LGTBI activists raises funds to help the families of striking miners. Despite initial rejection, the activists travel to Wales, where an unexpected alliance forms between seemingly opposing communities. The film highlights the importance of empathy and ethics in building more human and inclusive connections, reminding us that the union of groups in defense of a common cause is a powerful path to confronting social injustices.

On Wednesday, November 27 at 4 p.m., the show Calidoscòpica, created by dancer and choreographer Sònia Gómez with the collaboration of Encarni Espallargas, will be presented. An artistic proposal that blends dance, music, and performance to stage the meeting of two women. The piece addresses the artists' experiences through themes such as health, creativity, and well-being, offering a view of life and reality distorted by mental health experiences, such as schizophrenia.

With staging that invites play and imagination, Calidoscòpica delves into the idea of “madness” as a source of productivity and explores how to make creativity visible amid the stigma associated with mental disorders. The piece thus proposes a reflection on the potential of the mind, beyond prejudices.

To attend any of the shows, registration in this form is essential. Don’t miss it!
