The autumn edition of La Comunitària 2024 fills the campus with participative activities

This celebration, which has brought together the university community since 2022, was attended by many members of the university community and attendees were able to enjoy a wide variety of activities and proposals.

In this context, the university's slogan, “Let's reduce the use of fossil fuels! At the UAB we are committed to climate neutrality”, was present throughout the day, reinforcing the community's commitment to sustainability.

The kick-off of the event was at 12 noon with the reading of the Opening Address, which was read by the Colla Castellera Ganàpies, in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The presentation was led by Vice-Rector for Alumni and Employability Anabel Galán Mañas.

Throughout the day, around 50 exhibitors were set up throughout the Plaça del Coneixement, filling the atmosphere with enthusiasm and joy. The stands offered information about various UAB clubs and services. In addition, there was a Punt Lila, the Xiringu and the always popular photo booth. It should be noted that attendees had the opportunity to participate in fun activities such as BiblioJENGA, l'Últim Recurs thanks to Dinamització Comunitària, and the entrepreneurial skills test by EmprènUAB; which enlivened the atmosphere with fun and educational challenges for everyone.

In addition, for participating in the activities, attendees received a ticket that allowed them to exchange it for a commemorative La Comunitària T-shirt. This encouraged participation and added extra motivation to the different proposals.

One of the highlights was the Alpine Club's Apilabirres, which was a huge success; many participants climbed empty plastic beer crates as high as possible, adding dynamics and fun to La Comunitària.

In addition, at 12:15 p.m., a talk entitled “Construïm juntes el benestar: el poder transformador de la salut comunitària" [Building wellbeing together: the transformative power of community health] was given by Ester Teixidó and Carme Espelt, which attracted a large number of participants interested in learning more about the role of community health in the university context.

At 2 p.m., the Plaça del Coneixement hosted one of the most outstanding activities: the Sardana Workshop, which offered an exhibition and an open dance by the Sardana Cultural Association of Cerdanyola. This activity allowed attendees of various ages to enjoy a traditional Catalan cultural experience in a festive and participatory atmosphere.

The large number of attendees and the enthusiasm experienced throughout the day were a sign of the vitality of the UAB's community. Thanks to the involvement of the various groups and services, the autumn edition of the La Comunitària 2024 was a resounding success, reaffirming itself as one of the most important events in the university calendar.
