The UAB is sad to announce the death of Santiago Hidalgo
Santiago Hidalgo passed away on 5 July 2024. Among his many other positions he was head of the Teaching and Research Staff Area of the UAB. The University extends its deepest condolences to the people who knew and loved him, and wishes to expresses the sadness for having lost a member of its community.
Born in Zaragoza, Hidalgo never stopped expressing his Aragonese origins. He graduated in Law at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1981 and from the time he started working at the UAB in 1980, he was linked to the legal advice and management of Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) for 37 years until his retirement. His colleagues remember that "where he left an indelible mark from very early on, being a reference and teacher for his successors, was in the management of human resources at the UAB as head of Area, PAS and especially PDI, where he imprinted a unique and unrepeatable style of proximity, flexibility, rigour and sympathy that made him unforgettable for more than one generation of members of the UAB faculty".
