New double degree

In the 2025/26 academic year, the UAB will be offering a new double degree in Economics + Computational Mathematics and Data Analytics. This joint degree provides comprehensive training needed to take on and solve real economic problems such as how the financial market works, income distribution, poverty in the world, and the sustainability of existing economic growth models. It combines knowledge on current economic phenomena with advanced mathematical modelling and programming: the student will learn to use advanced mathematical and computational tools and create new algorithms to identify patterns and make simulations and predictions that provide real and measurable value.

This double degree will be taught at the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies and the Faculty of Science of the UAB based on the combination of two existing degrees. Twenty places will be offered and the degree will last five years (348 ECTS credits). Career opportunities include positions in the financial and banking sector, public administration, official data generation and management bodies, European institutions and agencies, and national and international regulatory bodies. It is focused, therefore, on training versatile professionals for both traditional sectors, such as consulting and finance, and emerging areas, such as data science, artificial intelligence and advanced economic research.
