Last days to present projects for this year's eines Awards

Until 14 September, all those interested can submit their application in the first call for the eines awards, in which the Chair for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation will award activities related to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The winners will be announced at an event taking place in Sant Cugat del Vallès on 6 October.

The Chair in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, associated to the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Research (CREIS) of the UAB, has announced a call for the first edition of the eines Awards, which promotes social transformation projrcts framed in at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations General Assembly. The awards will be given to the best social transformation projects of Catalonia, of the Vallès region, and locally. Deadline for the submission of applications is 14 September 2021, at 11:59 p.m. The resolution of the call will be made public on 6 October, in a ceremony taking place at the Auditorium of Sant Cugat del Vallès.

According to the call regulations, candidate projects must have a social or common good objective, as well as include a high level of social innovation; its benefits must be largely reinvested and used to reach their social objective; and the organisational method or system of ownership myst reflect the social mission of the company and be based onn social justice and on democratic and participative principles. Applications can be sent in by social and innovative organisations combining social objectives with an entrepreneurial spirit, and administered in an open and responsable manner, with the involvement of its workers and consumers and other groups of interest related to their activities.

The UAB created the Chair in Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, , associated to its Centre for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Research (CREIS), in collaboration with the city councils of Mollet del Vallès and Sant Cugat del Vallès, and with the county councils of the Vallès Occidental and Vallès Oriental. The chair also receives the support of the Provincial Council of Barcelona and is adhered to the project EINES (Espai Innova eN Emprenedoria Social), which fosters entrepreneurship and social innovation, and includes the involvement of not only the UAB, but also of the social, administrative and productive entities found in its surroundings.
