The student selected will be working in Brussels from September 2025 to February 2026.
The UAB's European alliance, the ECIU, offers a work placement for students, preferably master's students from one of the member universities, who would like to do an internship in Brussels during the first semester of the 2025/26 academic year, from September to February.
This is a unique opportunity to closely follow EU policy developments, identify opportunities for ECIU member institutions, help communicate them to the ECIU network, represent the alliance to policy makers and stakeholders in Brussels, and help strengthen ECIU's role as an important contributor to the EU policy debate.
The selected person will work with Olga Wessels, head of the ECIU Brussels Office, and the team of FOREU4ALL, a project that brings together 65 European university alliances.
To apply, students should fill in a form or send an email to Olga Wessels (intern@eciu.org) with their curriculum vitae, a letter of motivation, a transcript of records with grades, and letters of recommendation. Deadline for application is 21 April.
Tasks
The tasks include research, analysis and communication, as well as participation in conferences, seminars and meetings in Brussels on repesentation of the ECIU. In addition, the selected person will be expected to keep up to date on EU policy developments in the fields of education, research and innovation, and to give support to the flow of information between the Brussels office and member universities. He/she will also work closely with colleagues in the FOREU4ALL project and assist in the day-to-day management of the office, including planning and organising meetings and events.
Student profile
The ECIU is seeking a student, preferably enrolled in a master's degree, from one of the ECIU member universities (including the UAB) and with a strong interest and knowledge of European politics. It is essential for the student to master the English language, both spoken and written, and capable of working in a structured and independent manner. Interpersonal and communicative skills will also be valued, as well as the ability to adapt to a dynamic and multicultural environment. The student must demonstrate initiative, proactivity and a positive attitude towards learning and collaboration with different teams and projects.
