Master description

The master's degree consists of a total of 60 ECTS credits and is divided into two semesters. The content of the master's degree is structured into 8 compulsory modules, each worth 6 credits, except for Module 6 (Methodological Processes & Instruments and Techniques) which is worth 9 credits and Module 8 (Master Thesis), worth 15 credits.

The first two (International Standards in Records and Archives Management and Open Government, Transparency and Access to Information) introduces the student to the legal, regulatory and conceptual aspects of records management, related policies and information models.

Module 3 (Open Data and the Reuse of Information) takes into account both legal and technological and strategic aspects related to the use of information and documents.

Module 4 (Management Systems for Records: Implantation, Auditing and Certification) works on the conceptual and technical aspects in relation to the requirements of records management in implantation, auditing and certification processes.

Module 5 (Preservation and Risk Analysis) particularly focuses on strategies and resources to ensure the survival of electronic documents and prevent any undesirable effects of malpractice or obsolescence.

Module 6 (Methodological and Technical Processes & Tools) delves deeper into the more technical aspects of records management and practical applications in relation to electronic management systems of documents.

Module 7 (User Services, Marketing and Communication Strategies) focuses on the use of information and documents in different contexts and in the process of communication and dissemination based on marketing techniques which are specific to the field.

Module 8 (Master's Thesis) offers the students the possibility to transfer their knowledge into practical skills applied to real cases and/or present conceptual and methodological analyses and developments.
