Official Master's Degree in Design of Spaces
Access
Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.Admission requirements
Direct admission
Direct admission to the Master's degree is open to those who have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent university qualification in Design with a major in Spatial Design or related subjects, or with a major in Product Design or related subjects. The Master's degree is also open directly to those who have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent university qualification in Architecture, Technical Architecture, Architectural Interior Design, Architectural Studies or related degrees.
Students who have a Bachelor's or Bachelor's degree other than those listed above and who have previously taken the Master's degree in Spatial Design (or any of the postgraduate diplomas that comprise it) taught at the same centre can gain direct access by following the recognition and adaptation criteria established in this report (Annex 1, point 1. 3.4 "Credit recognition table").
Conditional admission
Those who have a degree in the field of engineering such as Building, Civil Engineering, Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering or related degrees, a degree in Fine Art or a degree in Design or equivalent without a major or with a major other than Spatial Design or Product Design and related degrees may also apply for admission to the Master's degree.
These candidates must meet one of these conditions:
-- Work experience: the person must have at least one year's work experience in spatial design, architecture and/or related fields, linked to project development or site management.
-- Specialised training: the person must have a lifelong learning or training courses in spatial design, interior design or related fields.
In the event that these requirements are not fully met, and in order to complement specific and specific shortcomings, the Master's degree Committee may assess the need to take bridging courses of up to 12 credits.
Selection criteria
In the event that the number of registered students exceeds the number of places offered, places will be allocated in accordance with the following priority criteria:
1. Academic record (10 %)
2. Curriculum (30 %)
3. Letter of motivation (20 %)
4. Portfolio (30 %)
5. Knowledge of languages (10 %): knowledge of English or other languages at a level equivalent to or higher than B2.
Complementary training
Bridging courses are designed according to the entry profile and can be up to 12 credits to be chosen among the following subjects of the Degree in Design offered by the centre:
- Projects 5: Spaces (6 credits)
- Digital Representations Applied to the Design of Space and Volume (6 credits)
- Technical Drawing (6 credits)
