Tick the tuition fee box that contributes to solidarity and global justice

The UAB's Solidarity Foundation (FAS) is launching the Solidarity Enrollment campaign to build a socially committed and supportive university. The campaign is aimed at students who enroll and are asked to make a contribution of 18 euros at the time of enrollment.

Donations from the students, as well as from all faculty and administrative and service staff, go to the UAB Solidarity Fund, which supports cooperation and education for global justice projects promoted by the university community itself.

Global Justice emphasises the root causes of injustices in the relations between the global North and South, and focuses on the effects and responsibility of rich countries on the violation of rights in impoverished countries. Faced with these and other issues related to cooperation, the University and its community play a key role in creating the conditions for a more just, diverse and peaceful world.

If you are a student and you want to collaborate with the solidarity tuition, you only have to check the box when you enrol. Your contribution of 18 euros will be used to finance cooperation initiatives in countries of the global South in areas such as education, health, gender equality and the environment. As an example, last year, 17,000 euros came from 950 financial contributions from UAB students.

In last year's call, the Solidarity Fund gave support to the implementation of 16 projects presented by PAS, PDI and Master and PhD students, which will be carried out jointly with universities and educational and civil society organisations from Nigeria, Dominican Republic, Mozambique, Uganda, Ghana, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador. The proposals are related to sexual and reproductive health, feminisms, LGTBI+ rights, immigration news coverage, social exclusion, environmental justice and education for global justice.
