JOVE: more contents
08/04/2019
This year we have expanded the contents of JOVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments), a resource to improve the learning of experimental techniques in very diverse fields: physics, engineering, chemistry, environmental sciences, biology, genetics, neuroscience, biochemistry, medicine and psychology.
JOVE is a tool designed to promote autonomous learning using streaming video, which is very successful among young people. These videos can be viewed from the UAB or from home, on the computer or mobile, and allow students to review and deepen those techniques they use in laboratory classroom.
For some subjects, videos have two different levels:
- Science education: where the techniques shown are basic, and
- Video journal: with protocols and more advanced level experiments.
In both cases, there is complementary material on the videos: direct access to different parts of the video, summaries, pdf with the concepts that are explained, etc.
And in the case of Science education a video test can be developed to evaluate the students.
