10/05/2024
Monday, May 13 at 1:00 p.m., the Veterinary Library has organized the "APITECA" talk. The librarians Maria Montià and Maria Dolors Quero, from the Jordi Rubió i Balaguer Library in Sant Boi de Llobregat, together with the beekeeper technician Jaume Clotet, will explain this project to us.
From a management point of view, the aim is to redefine the library's relationship with citizens, moving from a focus on creating services and activities to a more participatory model. The scientific part in which the beekeeper intervenes will explain the problems of these insects that are so beneficial for the agri-food sector, the management of urban beekeeping, technology (sensors and application) and the dissemination and awareness of the role and impact of bees on the environment and health.
APITECA is an initiative within the framework of The Europe Challenge, with the aim of discovering new ways of working and living in today's Europe, building a healthier and more sustainable environment as a great challenge for today's societies. The name of the project has as its motto “The buzz of the community.” One of the challenges is the involvement of the community in its design and development.
During this week and to celebrate World Bee Day, the Library will have an exhibition. We invite you to come!
