25N: Let's change the narratives!
The Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives commemorates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with a tour proposed by the Equality Commission of the Faculty of Communication Studies.

November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. For this reason, the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives is hosting an exhibition on the different floors of the building, designed and installed by the Equality Commission of the Faculty of Communication Studies: "This is our story: let’s change the narratives".
From the presentation text released by the Equality Commission:
"Last year, for these dates, the Equality Commission of the Faculty of Communication Studies, with the collaboration of the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives, proposed a tour reflecting on how journalists and communicators could say enough to sexist violence.
This year, we see the need to show another narrative, where it is possible to create a story free of sexist violence and that fights against patriarchy. There is a group of communicators who have understood that they are responsible for the public narrative of the 21st century and make different, respectful, intersectional, collective, diverse proposals, denouncing oppression and discrimination and creating new narratives outside of the imposed norms.
The tour we propose starts at the entrance of the Library (Floor 0) and continues to Floor 4. The Commission has worked in collaboration with different subjects of the faculty so that the students themselves can do their reflections on the new narrative proposals.
From the Equality Commission, we hope that this sample of new narratives will give us the necessary motivation to continue building a fairer and therefore more equal world.
From November 23 to December 22, visit the exhibition in the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives. Likewise, a series of tours and workshops have been scheduled around the depatriarchalization of the media narrative. If you are interested, contact the members of the Commission.”
In addition, during the days 23, 24 and 25 November, when it gets dark, the facade of the library will be lit up in purple, like other public buildings around the world.
