Exhibition on José Adelantado at the Social Sciences Library
The Social Sciences Library pays tribute with a virtual and face-to-face exhibition to Professor José Adelantado, from the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology of the UAB

The Research Center on Globalisation, Education and Social Policies (GEPS) based in the Department of Sociology of the UAB organizes a tribute act in honor of Professor José Adelantado Gimeno (1956-2021).
The event will take place next Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology of the UAB.
José Adelantado Gimeno was a professor in the Department of Sociology for more than twenty years. With a degree in Economics and a PhD in Sociology, in 1996 he created the Social Policy Analysis Seminar (SAPS) research space in the department with the aim of generating a space for the study and sociological analysis of social policies. In 2000, the book Cambios en el estado de benestar: políticas sociales y desigualdades en España was published under his direction, which in the following years became a reference for any analyst of social policies in Spain. Likewise, he exported his framework of analysis to his beloved Latin America.
