FAS volunteers offer support to the Vall d’Hebron Hospital

Voluntariat Vall d'Hebron

Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, the public health programme created by FAS is offering support to the Vall d’Hebron Hospital. More volunteers are needed for logistical support and communication tasks.

Due to the huge health crisis we are experiencing these past few weeks with COVID-19, the FAS's public health programme has launched a new volunteering programme to help carry out sanitary and on-site tasks at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona.

Firstly, there is a need for people to provide logistical support in the organisation and management of the pavilion set up specifically for Covid-19 patients or at the hospital, without being directly exposed to patients (restocking material, serving meals, etc). No experience in the healthcare sector is needed for these volunteering jobs.

Secondly, there is a need for more communication professionals to help in dissemination tasks  (press releases, content writing, social networks, web and intranets). In this case, volunteers need to have communication studies, such as journalism, audiovisual communication, advertising and public relations, etc.

All those interested in volunteering at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital must fill out this form and choose from four different schedules: mornings (7:00 to 10:00 a.m.), midday (12:00 to 3:00p.m.), evenings (5:00 to 8:00 p.m.), and nights (7:00 to 10:00 p.m.).

The public health programme of the Fundació Autònoma Solidària aims to offer accompaniment that contributes to improving the quality of life of patients in hospital or healthcare centres, as well their families' and carers' environment. The usual programme actions are currently on hold, but have given way to others that aim to meet today's specific needs.
