Event details

  • Start: 05 May 2025 14:00
  • End: 05 May 2025 18:00
  • UAB Casa Convalescència, Barcelona (Carrer Sant Antoni Maria Claret 171)

For the past four years, the VIVALDI project, led by the UAB, has explored ways to push the boundaries of innovation in transforming CO₂ emissions from bio-based industries into valuable resources. Thanks to the support of the Euorpean Union's Horizon 2020 programme, the VIVALDI consortium has managed to develop cutting-edge biotechnological solutions to convert off-gases from key sectors (food, paper, bioethanol and biochemical products) into four high-value organic acids, key components for more sustainable biomaterials and circular biorefineries.

Now that the project reaches its final stage, the consortium will communicate its breakthroughs in a conference entitled "Unlocking the Potential of CO₂ as Feedstock for the Chemical Industry". The conference will also focus on the environmental and economic impact of CO₂ valorisation and debate on how these advances can shape the future of a greener and more resource-efficient industry.

The conference is aimed at researchers, industry leaders, policy makers, and innovators in sustainability. Registration is required; those interested can attend in person or online.
