The UAB Innovation Week will end on 18 October with a day dedicated to "Science and Entrepreneurship in Feminine: building roads of social impact". The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the UAB Theatre Hall. This edition will focus on the social impact of research, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship, understood as the possible effects or benefits research activities or companies may have on society and the environment, with the aim of generating a positive and tangible change.
According to the GEM 2022-2023 report, women show greater sensitivity and commitment to social and environmental impact, but social impact is a responsibility shared by all individuals and organisations. Companies, regardless of their gender leadership, must generate positive benefits for society and the environment.
This is the central theme of the conference, which will discuss how to measure social impact and the possibility of reaching a consensus on indicators. Examples of university companies where social impact is fundamental will also be presented in order to learn about their priorities, indicators and challenges. Leading researchers, entrepreneurs and professionals will share their knowledge, research and practical experiences.
Participation is free and open to the public in general. Registration is required.
