The UAB Consolidates its Position Among the Top 10% of European Universities

QS EuropeThe Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) maintains its position at 66 in the QS WUR Europe 2025 ranking, which this year classifies a total of 685 European universities, 10 more than last year. In this way, the UAB is among the top 10% of the best universities in Europe.

By indicators, it is worth noting that the UAB ranks 21st among European universities in international mobility of incoming individuals, 38th in academic reputation, 48th in international mobility of outgoing individuals, and 53rd in sustainability. It is the top university in Spain for articles published by academic staff (ranked 62nd in Europe). Regarding the internationalization of research, the UAB ranks 76th in Europe for its international research network.

For the UAB rector, Javier Lafuente, “these results are undeniable and highly significant in an increasingly competitive context, demonstrating the strength of our University and the outcome of actions taken to enhance the international projection of UAB’s research activities.”

The QS WUR Europe features a set of indicators different from the QS WUR and changes in the weight of some indicators. The main variations include a specific indicator for articles per academic staff, with a weight of 5%, specific indicators for international mobility IN and OUT, each with a weight of 2.5%, and a specific indicator for international diversity, according to nationalities, with a weight of 5%.
