The Fundació UAB (FUAB) attended the 49th Annual Community Colleges for International Development (CCID) Conference in Washington DC, USA, from 14 to 17 February. FUAB's International Coordinator Richard Turner and Idiomes UAB Barcelona's Director Pascal Shaw attended the conference to present the opportunities offered by FUAB Formació, Study Abroad, Idiomes UAB Barcelona and the UAB Barcelona Summer School programmes, to sign new cooperation agreements and to promote Spanish and Catalan language courses.

The CCID Conference brought together over 300 international education professionals from community colleges in the United States and Canada, along with their international partners, under the theme SETTING A STANDARD: Strengthening Communities Through Global Education. The event featured more than fifty workshops and presentations to share and promote best practices and initiatives for global engagement and intercultural learning.

Community colleges are institutions of higher education that offer degrees after two years of undergraduate education, represent nearly 50% of the higher education sector in the United States, and provide open access to a diverse population. The commitment to community colleges is in line with the Institution's strategy to widen access to international education and its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as high quality language training, global mobility and academic cooperation.
