Abstract
This study contributes to the ongoing debate on research utilization and evaluation of knowledge and innovation transfer. Consistently, this research moves away from “evaluating processes” to “evaluating impact” of knowledge transfer through examining how each type of knowledge production contributes to sustainability impact of research. Relying on knowledge-based theory, we identify the knowledge and technology exchange activities and related indicators of a research institution in the agri-food sector using a database between 2013 and 2020. Results suggested that sectorial trainings, consulting service, external and site visits enhance and facilitate the articulation of knowledge from researchers to end-users. This research would shed new light on the micro level of research impact by providing tools for researchers and practitioners to improve their impact and to reach wider audience through knowledge exchange, while accomplishing a dual mission as scientific and sustainability targets.
