The opera La gata perduda, result of the Traction project with UAB involvement
The Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona recently premiered La gata perduda, a participative opera in which neighbours and entities from the Raval district in Barcelona were the actors. The opera is the result of the Traction project, focused on opera as a social transformation through audiovisual art and emerging technologies; a project in which the UAB research group TransMedia Catalonia also participated.

A Virtual Exhibition about Captured Korean Potters in Seventeenth Century Japan
A new online exhibition of ceramics has been curated by the “Aftermath of the East Asian War of 1592-1598” project at the UAB’s Department of Translation, Interpreting, and East Asian Studies.” “Stories of Clay: Discovering Choson Korean Potters in Tokugawa Japan” traces the experiences of different groups of Korean potters, who were captured and taken to Japan, after the devastating Imjin War of 1592-1598.
Teaching Excellence Award highlights "the involvement and commitment" of Carme Mangiron
Carme Mangiron, lecturer of the Department of Translation and Interpreting & East Asian Studies, was awarded the 4th UAB Teaching Excellence Award in an event that took place today at the Rectorat building as part of the 4th Teaching Innovation Sessions. Rector Javier Lafuente affirmed that the award recognises "the involvement and commitment of Dr Mangiron with her students".
