Conference "Young interpreters: Child Language Brokering as a tool for inclusion in diversity" organized by the MIRAS research group.
On June 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the conference "Young interpreters: language brokering as a tool for inclusion in diversity" will take place in room 004 of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, organized by the MIRAS research group.
This event puts an end to two of the research projects in which the group has been working in recent years: the strategic partnership EYLBID, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union (2019-1-ES01-KA201-064417) and the ILM project, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (RTI2018-098566-A-I00).
In addition to a conference by Marjorie Orellana, from the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies, there will be several communications in which the results of the projects and the materials developed will be presented. The day will close with a round table with young language brokers and professional interpreters who began interpreting during their childhood and adolescence.
