The Autonomous University of Barcelona is a benchmark in Europe, both for the quality of teaching and for innovation in research. Founded in 1968, the UAB has become a model to follow due to its desire to contribute to social progress by training the professionals required by the most dynamic economic and social sectors in the country.

The UAB was one of the first universities in the State to receive the recognition of Campus of International Excellence. This Program promotes the aggregation of institutions that have a common strategic project in order to create an academic, scientific, entrepreneurial and innovative environment to obtain high international visibility. The proposal of the Autonomous University of Barcelona is the project "UABCEI: Commitment to knowledge and innovation". It is a strategic plan that aims to boost the R & D & I environment in order to place the UAB among the best European universities.
