Management team
The departmental management team assists the director in the performance of their duties. It is made up of the secretary of the department, the coordinator of the doctoral programme and the coordinators of the units, as reflected in its regulations.

Department Council
The Department Council, chaired by the director, is the governing body of the department.
The following are members of the Department Council: all academic staff with PhDs and the rest of the full-time academic staff (sector A); a representation of the rest of the academic staff and trainee research staff (sector B); a representation of the third-cycle students (sector C) and a representation of the administrative and service staff (sector D).
The representatives on the Council are renewed every two years and are appointed by means of the election system, in accordance with the electoral regulations in force, and in such a way as to guarantee the representation of the different sectors and units.
The main competences of the Council of the Department are, among others:
- Draw up and approve the Department's Regulations, elect the director, approve the list and distribution of expenses, as well as their execution.
- Programme and coordinate the Department's teaching work.
- Propose calls for applications for teaching posts and appoint the members of the selection committees.
The Executive Committee
This is the delegated committee of the Departmental Council and the ordinary governing and management body of the department.
The members of the Executive Committee are the director and secretary of the department, the coordinator of each unit and a representative of sectors B, C and D.
