The SGAN-NEXST project aims to develop a new GaN-based technology to address the design of active devices for the next generation of Very High Performance Satellites (VTHS), mainly high-power amplifiers in Q-band and low-noise amplifiers at V-band frequencies and switches. The project lasts 3 years and the consortium is led by Sener Aerospacial. It is made up of prime contractors such as Airbus and Thales Alenia Space, technology developers such as United Monolithic Semiconductors (UMS), Swegan and FBH, the University of Bologna and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona through the WavesLab research group.
